The General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS) voted last week on a series of recommended reforms pertaining to the future of the Inter-American Human Rights System.
The 35-member states have re-affirmed their commitment to strengthen the Inter-American Human Rights System and to pursue full funding for the System through the Organization of American States. However, the vote did not bring the reform dialogue to a close. Instead, the final resolution declared that the discussion on reforms to the Inter American Human Rights System will continue indefinitely.
