Three young women’s rights activists have come to Ottawa, Canada to take part in the Nobel Women’s Initiative Sister-to-Sister Mentorship Program. Meet 2013 Participant Gabriela Riviera: lawyer and women’s rights activist from Guatemala.
Gabriela works for an organization called Alas de Mariposas, which aims to strengthen the government’s support of women’s rights in Guatemala.
Gabriela is enthusiastic about participating in the Program: “I’m very excited to be here – both to learn from others and share information with them about the current situation of women in my country, such as the increase of violence.”
Watch Gabriela introduce herself and her work!
