  • Delegation Group

    Due to the current ban on Americans traveling to North Korea, we are coordinating a simultaneous trip of 35 international (non-US) women to travel to Pyongyang, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK/North Korea) and 35 U.S. women to travel to Seoul, Republic of Korea (ROK/South Korea). On May 24, both delegations will travel to the DMZ, hold simultaneous peace walks, and meet at Panmunjom to hold a vigil for peace, including conducting a jogakbo (quilt) stitching ceremony symbolizing the role of women to help reunite Korea. The 70 U.S. and international women participating in the walk and vigil for peace would be a symbolic number representing the urgency and global commitment to help end seven decades of war. This delegation will involve two separate groups:

    Chinese Visas

    Some international delegates will require a visa to enter China. After you register, we will contact you to provide additional visa information but it is your responsibility to apply for and secure your visa. (Please remember it is also your responsibility to determine if any TRANSIT visas are required for your flight itinerary.)

    DPRK (North Korean) Visas

    While in Beijing, KPN! will help facilitate DPRK visas

    Sponsored guests will be reimbursed for their visa related expenses on-site so please bring your receipts.

    Vaccinations

    Review Vaccination Information to identify any vaccination needs ahead of your travel.

  • It is your responsibility to obtain a visa to visit Beijing. Please consult the website of your nearest Chinese Embassy in order to confirm the application procedure.

    Based on the information you provide in this conference registration form, KPN! will provide the following materials, which must be submitted with your visa application:

    2) Flight itinerary

    May 19 - Arrive in Beijing

    May 20 – Apply for DPRK visas and orientation

    May 21 – Travel to Pyongyang, DPRK

    May 21 -23 – Site visits

    May 24 - DMZ peace walk and Vigil for Peace at Panmunjom

    May 24 - Depart North Korea

    For sponsored guests, KPN! will book and cover the cost of your economy class round-trip flight. Based on the information you provide in the section below, our travel agent will email you a proposed flight itinerary for consideration. Please respond the agent within 48 hours.

    Note: Nobel Women’s Initiative will pre-pay for seat selection and one piece of checked luggage only.

    Self-funded guests should proceed with booking your own flights. Please send jtricoche@secure.nobelwomensinitiative.org your confirmed itinerary no later than April 20th.

    We rely on you to communicate to the travel agent any special needs or local expertise you have so together you can develop a travel itinerary that meets your needs for security, comfort and efficiency. We encourage you and remind you it is your responsibility to reject any travel itineraries that don't fully consider these needs.

    Based on your confirmed travel itinerary, KPN! will reserve and manage hotel bookings in Beijing, Pyongyang, and Seoul for all delegates. Sponsored guests should note you might be asked to share a hotel room with another delegate guest. KPN! will cover the cost of all sponsored guests’ rooms directly.

  • Payment

    The registration fee for this conference is $1,000 USD.

    This fee includes your full participation in the 4-day multi-language event, including interpretation, airport transfers in Monrovia, ground transportation to/from the conference venue each day, meals during the conference, a full day of site visits and exciting Welcome and Closing Dinners.

    This fee excludes flight cost, hotel expenses and meals and incidentals outside of the conference schedule.

  • A series of conference calls or webinars will be scheduled ahead of our time on the Korean peninsula to further education and preparation for this important action. Please select your best availability for these calls (separate polling will be done before scheduling).
